H.H. Tenzin Gyatso, the XIV Dalai Lama of Tibet, presented Buddhist teachings in Long Beach, CA on Friday, September 25th, to Saturday 26th 2009. A few thousand people attended the teaching sessions, discussed Tibetan issues and shopped in the bazaar. Long Beach Mayor Bob Foster presented a white silk "kata", or ceremonial scarf, to His Holiness on Friday. Due to security and other restrictions by the event sponsor, no press coverage was allowed inside the auditorium.
